Day (1917-2007) reached stardom as Nurse Lamont opposite Lew Ayres
in a series of six Dr. Kildare films (1939-1942). Other starring
roles for Day included Hitchcock's Foreign Correspondent (1940), The
Story of Dr. Wassell (1944), My Dear Secretary (1948) and The High
and the Mighty (1954). She was married to baseball manager Leo
Durocher from 1947-1960. She hosted a television program in 1951.
This item is from the estate of actress Laraine Day, formerly married from
1947 to 1960 to baseball Hall of Fame manager Leo Durocher. They enjoyed the
friendship of US Presidents, Hollywood celebrities and baseball veterans, many
of whom inscribed remembrances to the couple. Soiled at top right on verso (no
show through). Slightly worn at top edge. Otherwise, fine
condition.
