captioned at lower margin. Lari White, who had begun her singing career with her
family's gospel group, became one of the most popular new female country
singers of the mid-1990s after winning on the Nashville Network's You Can
Be a Star. In 1992, she signed a recording contract with RCA,
releasing her debut album, Lead Me Not, in 1993. Tracks included three
minor hit singles, but White hit the big time a year later with her second
album, Wishes, which included three No. 10 hit singles: "That's My Baby",
"Now I Know" and "That's How You Know (When You're in Love). She followed her
success with the albums Don't Fence Me In (1996) and Stepping
Stone (1998) as well as a compilation album, The Best of Lari White
