The popular B-movie horror film director, writer and producer signs his name twice on this publicity card from his film Q: The Winged Serpent (1982)
Autograph note double signed: "Larry Cohen", and "To/Oscar,/I've always/wanted an/Oscar-/Thanks,/Larry Cohen" on verso, in black ink, color, 3¾x5¾ publicity card for his film Q: The Winged Serpent (1982). Larry Cohen (b.1941) is an American producer, film director and screenwriter, who is most well-known for his B-movie horror and sci-fi films that accrued large cult followings throughout the 1970's and 1980's. Early in his career, he started out writing for various television shows, such as The Defenders (1964) and The Fugitive (1964-65). From there, he began directing, starting with the film Bone and then It's Alive (1974). Throughout the 1980's Cohen directed, wrote and/or produced a handful of low budget horror films, often featuring actor Michael Moriarty. In 2002 he wrote the script for the film Phone Booth, which ended up entangled in a bidding war between conflicting directors who wanted the film. Director Joel Schumacher ended up getting the job and cast stars Colin Ferrell, Forest Whitaker and Kiefer Sutherland for the lead roles. Edges slightly worn. Fine condition.
