20x16 photograph showing Holmes in the ring during his final "comeback" fight (at age 52). (Holmes won a 10-round decision.)
Photograph signed: "Larry Holmes", "Butterbean/Esch". Color, 20x16. Boxer LARRY HOLMES (b. 1949) was heavyweight champion (WBC or IBF) from 1978-1985. He successfully defended his title 20 times before losing to Michael Spinks. Holmes returned from his first retirement in 1988 and was KO'd in the 4th round by champ Mike Tyson. He launched a second comeback in 1991 and fought and lost title bids against Evander Holyfield in 1992 and Oliver McCall in 1995. Holmes beat "Butterbean" Escho in a one-fight comeback in 2002 (shown here). He has a pro record of 69-6 and 44 KOs. ERIC "BUTTERBEAN" ESCH (b. 1968) was 5-time World Toughman Heavyweight Champion before turning pro. He earned his nickname from a special diet he pursued to get under the Toughman 400 lb. weight limit. Despite his 10-round loss by decision to Holmes, Esch went on to win the IBA Super-Heavyweight and WAA Heavyweight titles, and as of 2013 he holds the Elite 1 Mixed Martial Arts championship. (He also competes in kickboxing and entertainment wrestling.) Fine condition.
