Typed Quotation signed: "Larry/ Nelson" in blue ink, 6x4. Card contains a quote from the November 11, 1991 issue of Sports Illustrated, In full: "'I want to win here, stand on the 18th green and say, "I'm going to the World Series."'". Larry Nelson (b. 1947) discovered golf at age 20, while in the U.S. Army. He broke 100 on his first try and entered the PGA Tour after playing only one 72-hole tournament, and he hasn't looked back since. He won three majors: the PGA Championship in 1981 and 1987, and the U.S. Open in 1983. He played with the U.S. Ryder Cup team three times and was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2006. Overall, he won 30 tournaments, including 10 PGA events and 19 so far on the Champions Tour. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
