After playing pro baseball in the Boston Braves minor league system for 6 years, Pennell (born February 21, 1928) broke into films with a debut in Seven Angry Men (1955). Other notable feature films include The Great White Hope (1970), Midway (1976), Marilyn: the Untold Story (as Clark Gable, 1980), Mr. Baseball (1992) and Seasons of Life (2006). He has made guest appearances in dozens of TV series, with recurring roles in Ripcord (1961-1963), Lassie (1972-1973) and Salvage 1 (1979). He played Dash Riprock, Ellie Mae's movie star suitor in multiple episodes of The Beverly Hillbillies (1965-1969). Jody McCrea (1934-2009) was the son of actor couple Joel McCrea and Frances Dee. Jody appeared in a number of feature films, including The First Texan (1956), Gunsight Ridge (1957) and Cry Blood, Apache (1970) with his father (with whom he also starred in Wichita Town), Operation Bikini (1963), Muscle Beach Party (1964), Beach Blanket Bingo (1965) and How to Stuff a Wild Bikini (1965). He also starred with his father in Trooper Hook (1957), the TV Wichita Town (1959) and Cry Blood, Apache. Jody gave up show business in 1970 to become a rancher in New Mexico. Francis Dayle "Chick" Hearn (1916-2002) was an American sportscaster. He is known for his long time play by play of the Los Angeles Lakers in the National Basketball Association. Starting on November 21, 1965 Hearn broadcasted 3,338 consecutive Laker games. His vocal presence was such an integral part of the Los Angeles Lakers that he was simulcast on radio and television, at a time when most teams chose to use separate announcers for television and radio. Hearn coined the now common basketball terms slam dunk and air ball. His voice can also be heard in re runs of popular television shows like Gilligan's Island and The Simpsons.
