Screen and television actress Laura Dern (born in 1967), the daughter of Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd, is best known for her role as Ellie Sattler in Jurassic Park (1993) and Jurassic Park III (2001). Both she and her mother were nominated for Academy Awards for Rambling Rose (1991), the first time that a mother and a daughter were nominated for Oscars for the same film, and Dern and Ladd also played mother and daughter in White Lightning (1973), Wild at Heart (1990), Citizen Ruth (1996) and Daddy and Them (2001). Dern, whose other films include Foxes (1980), Mask (1985), Blue Velvet (1986) and I Am Sam (2001), has also made guest appearances on a number of television series, from Shannon (1981) to The West Wing (2002), including a notable role as the woman to whom Ellen "comes out" on Ellen (1997). She has been married to musician Ben Harper since December 2005. Slightly creased at upper left edge. Lightly soiled at upper right margin.
