page, 8½x11. Written on personal letterhead. December 23, 1954. New York City,
New York. Addressed to Broadway producer Charles Forsythe. In full:
"Your letter of Dec. 3 reached me in Baltimore, and since the opening I have
been trying to contact you without any success. Thank you for your kindness in
answering me so promptly. As you no doubt know by reading the papers
"Portrait" will close its doors on Saturday evening, so if you or someone
else could call me regarding the "Portia" reading we had spoken of - I would be
very grateful - Sincerely". Stage and television actress Laurinda Barrett
(b. 1931) made her acting debut in the film The Wrong Man (1956),
appearing as Constance Willis. After her film debut, she appeared mostly on
television, in addition to her roles in several Broadway plays. These plays
include Too Late the Phalarope (1956), The Milk Train Doesn't Stop
Here (1964), and Equus (1974). Normal mailing folds. Toned. Light
surface creases. Corners rounded. Slightly soiled on verso. Otherwise, fine
condition.
