actor Lawrance D'orsay (1853-1931) starred on Broadway stages, appearing in no fewer
than 20 productions between 1900 and 1928. He played the title role of The Earl of
Pawtucket at the Manhattan Theatre in 1903, and reprised the role in a silent film of
1915. He played leading roles in both comedies and melodramas, and appeared in at least two
"musical extravaganzas." D'orsay also appeared in silent films, beginning in 1912, including The
Ruggles of Red Gap (1918) and The Sorrows of Satan (1926). He should not be confused with
author Laurence D'Orsay (1887-1947). Mounting residue on verso. Corners lightly creased.
