Wood" and "John W. Gardner", 6½x2½. FDC honoring the memory of President Johnson, 8-cent stamp affixed, postmarked Austin, Texas, August 27, 1973, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. This stamp was issued on what would have been LBJ's 65th birthday. Lyndon Baines Johnson, the 36th U.S. President (1963-1969), had died on January 22, 1973. Light yellow stain touches Barr's signature. Light vertical fold touches three letters of three names. Overall, fine condition.
