(1975-1984)
Inscribed Photograph Mount Signed: "To Doug Voegler/ with every good wish/ Lawrence
O'Brien". B/w, 8x10. Lawrence "Larry" O'Brien (1917-1990) was a highly-respected
political adviser who served under both President Kennedy and President Lyndon B.
Johnson. Also, notably, he functioned as postmaster general from 1965 to 1968 during
President Johnson's administration and as chairman of the Democratic National
Committee from 1970 to 1972. After spending a large portion of his professional life in
politics, O'Brien became a fierce proponent of public financing of Federal elections. In
addition to his illustrious political career, O'Brien became commissioner of the National

as commissioner include the implementation of a stringent drug and alcohol abuse policy and
the introduction of the three-pointer. Corners and edges gently worn. Otherwise, fine
condition.
