LAWRENCE FOX, JR. Stock Certificate Signed twice: "Lawrence W.
Fox Jr.", as President of General Film and on verso as
transferring shareholder. 1p, 10x6½ with 3½x6½ receipt portion affixed at
left edge. No place, 1937 April 30. Stock Certificate No. 1,
representing 500 shares of capital stock in the General Film Company, with a par
value of $1.00 each. In part: "This certifies that Lawrence W.
Fox, Jr. is the record holder of five hundred (500) shares, being the
shares represented hereby, of General Film Company. Also signed by:
"Helen McKinley" as Secretary. Transfer on verso is neither dated nor
witnessed. "Cancelled" handwritten (unknown hand) across front center. Lawrence
Fox requires further research. He has no identifiable connection to William Fox,
the founder of Fox Films and its successors. Nor should General Film be confused
with General Films, the film distribution firm created by Thomas Edison.
Slightly creased and soiled. Paper clip impression at top left. Otherwise, fine
condition.
