Filipino actress and singer Lea Salonga (b. 1971) swept the major awards - Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk, Theatre World and Outer Critics - when she starred in Miss Saigon, first in London (1989) and then New York (1991). She was the first Asian woman to play the Les Miserables roles of Eponine (on Broadway) and Fantine (in London). Salonga was named a Disney Legend after singing the parts of Jasmine in Aladdin (1992) and Fa Mulan in Mulan (1998). Her debut solo album sold three million copies worldwide.
