Lee A. Archer, the only confirmed ace among the Tuskegee Airmen,
signed this short questionnaire.
Questionnaire signed: "Lee A. Archer, Jr.", 6½x3¾ card. Archer
supplies a handwritten response to a series of printed, personal questions:
favorite animal - "Dog"; favorite food - "Pasta"; favorite movie -
"Movies made prior to 1980"; favorite music - "Jazz". Archer
(1919-2010),who retired from the Air Force in 1970, was a member
of the famed Tuskegee Airmen, the African-American pilots who bedeviled
German foes in their distinctive, red-tailed fighters during World War II.
Archer called his P-51 Mustang "Ina the Macon Belle." Archer flew 169
missions, downing five German planes in aerial combat and six more on the
ground, and earned many medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross.
Today, the Lee A. Archer Red Tail Flying Program uses aviation training to
mentor disadvantaged youths. Ink note on verso (no show through). Fine
