Signature: "Lee Grant", 5x3 index card. Julliard-trained Grant (b.
Lyova Rosenthal) joined the American Ballet company at age 11. A veteran
stage actress whose Broadway appearances ranged from Detective Story
(1949) to The Prisoner of Seventh Avenue (1973), was nominated for
three Best Supporting Actress Oscars (Detective Story, 1951; The
Landlord (1970) and Voyage of the Damned (1976) and won another
(Shampoo, 1975). She won an Emmy on TV's Peyton Place (1966).
Grant has also sat in the Director's chair, beginning with Tell Me a
Riddle (1966). Grant might have been an even bigger film start had she not
been blacklisted in the 1950s for refusing to testify against her then husband,
Arnold Manoff. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Fine
