LEE MOORE
Veteran actor writes John Willis of Theater World a note on his typed resume thanking him for his continued interest in his work.
Typed Resume Signed: "LM" 1 page. 8½x11. In Full: "Dear Mr. Willis- Thank you for your interest- any questions please call. Sincerely" Lee Moore (b. 1929) made his acting debut in a comedy- musical as a young lad in Sunny (1925-1926), he later went on to star on the silver screen cast as the Carnival Man in Carnival Queen (1937), and a number of Hollywood classics such as: Invitation to Happiness (1939), Las Vegas Nights (1941), Hit the Road (1941), The Big Street (1942) with the legendary Lucille Ball, and If You Knew Susie (1948). Decades later, Moore went on to star in the Off-Broadway play Once More With Feeling (1978). John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Lightly toned. Creased at left corner in header. Light creasing at corners of document. Normal mailing folds. Correction fluid markings in body of document. Ink bleed on verso. Otherwise, in fine condition.
