LEE MacPHAIL, AURELIO RODRIGUEZ, JACK McKEON and
CHARLES "CHUB" FEENEY. Document signed: "L. S. MacPhail" as American
League President "Aurelio Rodriguez" twice as Player, "Jack McKeon" as General Manager
of the San Diego Padres "C S Feeney" as National League President , 6p (integral leaf), 8x11.
Rodriguez has handwritten his home address in Mexico and his U.S. Social Security Number.
Original contract between Rodriguez and the San Diego Padres dated 1979 December 11,
approved by Feeney 1979 December 13. Rodriguez' assignment to the New York Yankees
signed by McKeon 1980 August 4 and MacPhail (1980 August 22). LEE MacPHAIL,
elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee in 1998, followed his father
Larry MacPhail, also a successful baseball executive, into the Hall. Lee MacPhail was Director
of Player Personnel for the Yankees, 1948-1958, during which time the Yanks failed only once
to win the pennant. Moving on to Baltimore as President and General Manager (1958-1965),
he helped turn that franchise into a winning dynasty. One of his last moves there was to pull off
one of the greatest trades in baseball history, sending pitcher Milt Pappas to Cincinnati in
exchange for future Hall of Famer Frank Robinson. Next MacPhail returned to the Yankees as
G.M., before capping his career as American League President (1973-1983) and president of
the ML Players Relations Committee. AURELIO RODRIGUEZ (1947-2000) was an
excellent defensive third baseman, who played in the Major Leagues (1967-1983) for seven
teams, and afterwards played and managed in his native Mexico. He played for three teams in
the postseason, including four games of the World Series for 1981 New York Yankees. JACK
“TRADER JACK” McKEON managed five MLB teams: the Kansas City Royals, Oakland
A's, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds and Florida Marlins. He also worked as General
Manager of the Padres (1980-1990). As his nickname implies, McKeon engineered many
trades. CHARLES “CHUB” FEENEY was a prominent figure in Major League Baseball,
serving as the president and chief executive officer of the San Francisco Giants from 1986 to
1992. Accompanied by PSA/DNA Authentication (D91131). Fine condition.
