Signatures: "Lee Tracy" and, on verso, "Geo. E. Stone" in pencil, 6x4½ album leaf. Actor LEE TRACY (1898-1968), born William Lee Tracy, was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in 1964 for The Best Man, his final film. Tracy, who had become a Broadway star in 1924, had made his film debut in 1929. His long list of feature film credits includes The Lemon Drop Kid (1934) and Sutter's Gold (1936), and Tracy also starred in several early TV series, The Amazing Mr. Malone (1951), Martin Kane, Private Eye (1952-1953) and New York Confidential (1959). He also made several TV guest appearances, from two episodes of The Chevrolet Tele-Theatre in 1949 to Ben Casey in 1965. GEORGE E. STONE (1902-1967), born George Stein in Poland, is best known to TV audiences as the Court Clerk on the Perry Mason TV series (Stone was totally blind at the time). The actor, a friend of writer Damon Runyon, often appeared on the big screen in Runyonesque characters, such as Society Max in Guys and Dolls (1955) and Toothpick Charlie in Some Like it Hot (1959). After making his acting debut as "Sewer Rat" in Seventh Heaven in 1927, Stone appeared as "the Runt" in several Boston Blackie movies (1941-1948) and was featured in such films as The Man With the Golden Arm (1955), Baby Face Nelson (1957) Ocean's 11 (1960) and Pocketful of Miracles (1961). His TV guest appearances include roles on The Adventures of Superman (1955, 1956) and The Twilight Zone (1961). Slightly creased. Lightly soiled, light stain at upper blank right margin of Tracy's side. Pencil note (unknown hand) beneath Tracy's signature. 3 file holes at blank right margin. Overall, fine condition.
