LEGENDS OF THE FALL: ANTHONY HOPKINS and BRAD PITT
Color 9¾x7¾ photograph of Pitt and Hopkins in costume standing before a log cabin wall
Photograph signed "BP" and "Anthony Hopkins" in blue ink. Color, 9¾x7¾. In Legends of the Fall (2001), Hopkins, as Col. William Ludlow, brings his three sons (Pitt, Aidan Quinn and Henry Thomas) to live with him in the American frontier during the 1900's. The three seem to be inseparable, until Pitt's character brings home his fiancée, and his brothers find themselves falling in love with her as well. This, and their decision to go off to war in 1914, threatens to tear the family apart. HOPKINS burst full-flower onto the American scene in 1974 as an ex-Nazi doctor in QB VII. The actor became typed in intense, neurotic roles for the next several years in films such as Audrey Rose (1976), Magic (1978) and Bounty (1982). On TV, Hopkins played roles as varied (yet somehow intertwined) as Adolph Hitler, accused Lindbergh-baby kidnapper Bruno Richard Hauptmann and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. In 1991, Hopkins won an Academy Award for his bloodcurdling portrayal of murderer Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, continuing the role in its sequels. In 1995, Hopkins earned considerable acclaim and an Oscar nomination for his uncanny interpretation (done without elaborate makeup) of President Richard M. Nixon in Nixon. Hopkins garnered another Oscar nomination in 1998, this time for Best Supporting Actor, for his work in the slavery epic Amistad. PITT, dubbed by "People Magazine" in 1994 as "the sexiest man alive", was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actor in 12 Monkeys (1997). His other noteworthy roles include Thelma and Louise (1991), A River Runs Through It (1992), Legends of the Fall (1994), Seven (1995), Meet Joe Black, and Spy Games (2001). In 2005, Pitt co-starred in Mr. & Mrs. Smith opposite Angelina Jolie, who became his partner after his divorce from Jennifer Anniston. In 2011, Pitt starred as Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane in Moneyball. Lightly creased. Otherwise, fine condition.
