Dynamic actor Len Cariou (b.1939 in Manitoba, Canada) has been in
the entertainment business for over 40 years. In the 1970s Cariou was a stage
sensation, starring in Broadway's Applause (1970-1972), A Little Night
Music (1973-1974), Cold Storage (1977-1978) and the original
production of Sweeney Todd (1979-1980), his most noted performance.
On screen he's appeared in a number of television shows and feature films, such
as About Schmidt (2002), Secret Window (2004) and Damages
(2010). Recently, he was in the 2013 thriller Prisoners and the series
Blue Bloods (2010-2014) on which he plays retired NYPD Commissioner Henry
Reagan. For his stage performances he's earned 3 Tony's, 2 Theatre World
Awards and a Drama Desk Award, all for Best Actor. Pencil note (unknown
