LEO CHIOZZA MONEY
Inscribed signature of the economist and parliamentarian
Inscribed Signature: "To Mr. Cyril A. Munro/Leo Chiozza Money/July 18.1922", 4½x3½. Anglo-Italian economist and politician Leo Chiozza Money (1870-1944), an advocate of free trade and equitable income distribution, was an advisor to Liberal Party leader David Lloyd George, serving as Lloyd George's private secretary and then munitions secretary during World War I. He was knighted in 1915. Although not politically allied with Winston Churchill, Money was friendly with Churchill, and provided him with useful economic data. Money was a Member of Parliament from 1906 to 1918. With Lloyd George's resignation as Prime Minister in 1922, the year of this signature, Money's influence declined. He moved to the Labour Party, and devoted himself to writing. Staple holes at top left. Lightly worn. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Otherwise, fine condition.
