Leo Carrillo inscribes a clown head to a fan on an album
leaf.
Inscribed original art signed: "Hi/Maceo [in carton
balloon/drawn clown face]/Leo Carrillo/1942", 4¼x5¼ album leaf.
Unidentified signer on verso. After portraying Pancho, the Cisco Kid's
sidekick in four films (1948-1949), Carrillo (1880-1961) repeated the role when
he and Duncan Reynaldo (as Cisco) starred in television's The Cisco
Kid in 156 half-hour episodes from 1950-1956. Leo Carrillo State Park
and Leo Carrillo Beach, both in California, were named after the actor, who also
served on the State Park and Recreation Commission. He was related by blood and
marriage to a long line of distinguished original Californians. Upper left
corner torn. Otherwise, fine condition.
