Autograph Letter signed: "Leo Z. Lerando", 1p, 6x9. No place, 1930 November 1. To "My dear Mr. Coyle". In full: "Thanks for your kind line. I am working for your behalf and did much to see your efforts successful. I even spoke in your favor [illegible] the South Side and also spoke with Mr. [illegible] to put people behind you. I lined up many people, chiefly the element of persons of other extractions and they are going to vote for you. Wishing you all success, I am yours sincerely [signature]." Lerando (1830-1936) was a Czech American professor of Romance languages and literature. He came to the United States in 1916 and taught at various places, including St. Theresa's College (Winona, Minnesota). Writing is light. Binder impressions on left edge.
