canvas, Reclining Youth. Captioned on verso. Leon Golub (born in
1922), a leader of Chicago's figurative movement in the 1950s, executed
this work as he did many of his works of that period: applying layers of lacquer
and oil paint and then scraping them down to produce an uneven surface. Fine
condition.
