LEON URIS
The novelist signs this copy of his book QB VII in black ink
Book signed: "Leon Uris" in black ink on the title page, 432p, 4x6¾. Paperback, Bantam
Books: 1972. Originally published by Doubleday in 1970, QB VII tells the story of the trial
of fictional author Abraham Cady in Queen's Bench Courtroom Number Seven. In his
book, The Holocaust, Cady accused respected surgeon Sir Adam Kelno of being a sadistic
inmate/doctor at Jadwiga Concentration Camp, where his family had perished. Cady's trial,
resulting from libel charges brought against him by the furious Kelno, is told in Uris' typical
absorbing and emotionally charged style. In a career spanning four decades, Leon Uris
(1924-2003) wrote eleven epic novels, including Exodus(1958),Topaz(1967),QB VII(1970),Trinity(1976), and Redemption(1995). His large-scale, action-filled works often
depict courageous individuals caught up in major events of modern history. Before Uris
became a novelist, he was a member of the United States Marine Corps, enlisting soon after
the attack on Pearl Harbor. He served in the South Pacific from 1942-1945. Lightly worn at
edges. Faint yellow stain at top right corner of signature page up to page 11. Otherwise, fine
condition.
