LEONARD NIMOY
The actor signs this contract to play the role of Robert Tyler in the TV show Sea Hunt
Document signed: "Leonard Nimoy" as Player, 1p, 8½x11. Hollywood, California, 1958 April 15. Eight years before finding fame on Star Trek, the actor is hired for the second of his six appearances on Sea Hunt. Headed: "ZIV Television Programs, Inc." Nimoy is hired to play Robert Tyler on production 37B of Sea Hunt for one day at a rate of $125 per day. Also signed by the casting director of ZIV Television Programs, Inc. Leonard Nimoy appeared in six episodes of Sea Hunt, which starred Lloyd Bridges and aired from 1958-1962. In 1965, Gene Roddenberry signed Leonard Nimoy (1931-2015) to play Vulcan science officer Spock on the TV series Star Trek. At first pleased at the assignment, Nimoy came to resent the fact that the public perceived him as Spock and nothing else: indeed, one of his many written works was the slim autobiography I Am Not Spock. In 1978, Nimoy was back in his Enterprise uniform in the first of several Star Trek theatrical features. The Spock character was killed off in the second Trek picture, but - this being science fiction - reborn in the third one. He went on to direct such non-Trek film endeavors as 3 Men and a Baby (1987), The Good Mother (1988), Funny About Love (1990) and Holy Matrimony (1994). He also produced and acted in the 1991 TV movie Never Forget. Leonard Nimoy now seems resigned to being forever associated with the role that brought him international fame; his most recent autobiographical work was aptly titled I Am Spock. Lightly creased at upper margin. Lightly stained upper right and lower left corners. Staple holes at upper left corner, lower right corner chipped off. Otherwise, fine condition.
