Autograph Letter Signed: "leRoy". 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1974 December 30. To Dick, in full: "Hey Dick, Good to hear from you - I've had a show in Tokyo and have been in Zaire since we last got together. The book is selling well and I'm proud of it. Hope the next year will be another good one for you with health and happiness and action." Neiman (1921-2012) is best known for his brilliantly colored, energetic illustrations. Based in New York City, he is recognized as the consummate sports artist of the 20th century. In 1972 he was named the official artist for the Olympic games. He was designated the outstanding sports artist in America by the Amateur Athletic Union (1976) and was given the Olympic Artist of the Century Award in 1979. Horizontal fold crosses "LeR" of signature. Nicked in upper left corner. Light 1x¾-inch stain in upper right corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
