LeRoy Neiman signs pamphlet for his exhibition at The Emerald Art Galleries, Inc.
Exhibition Brochure signed: "leRoy Neiman", 4p, 9½x7. Signed on the cover to the left of a color 6x4 image of his Del Coronado Petit Galop (April 1976). Captioned at lower margin: "Original oil painting of Hotel Del Coronado on display, along with a large collection of original oil paintings, old and new artist's proofs, signed and numbered serigraphs and signed and unsigned posters of 'Petit Galop' by Neiman." Inside pages feature a short biography and a listing of private collections of Neiman's paintings, mostly on sport themes. Neiman (1921-2012) is best known for his brilliantly colored, energetic illustrations. Based in New York City, he is recognized as the consummate sports artist of the 20th century. In 1972 he was named the official artist for the Olympic Games. He was designated the outstanding sports artist in America by the Amateur Athletic Union (1976) and was given the Olympic Artist of the Century Award in 1979. Fine condition.
