LESLIE BARRETT
Actor writes to John Wills, editor of Theatre World, making corrections to his biography
Autograph letter signed: "Leslie Barrett" 1 page front and verso, 6x8. March 1, 1979. New York City, New York. In full: "Dear Sirs, I am currently in "My Old Friends" off B'way at the Orpheum Theatre. In looking through your "Theatre World" Vol 33 1976-77 - I noted that two Broadway shows I was in were omitted in the section of Biographies. (You can check the Contract Dept of Equity to find) I appeared in Tennessee Williams "Slapstick Tragedy" Feb. of 1966. I played a few weeks of previews and before Opening officially the role was changed. Also I appeared on Broadway with the show "What Did We Do Wrong" during many weeks of previews in Oct. of 1967 before the role was omitted (before official opening.)Also omitted in the biography was Off B'way productions in April 1963-"The Dragon" (Phoenix Theatre, Jan 1958-"Trial of Dmitri Karamazov" (Norman Rose), Dec 1956-"Purple Dot"(Paul Shyre production/Cherry Lane Theatre) Corrections would be very much appreciated. Sincerely". Leslie Barrett (1919-2010) was a stage, television, and movie actor with a career spanning 60 years. On television he appeared in popular shows such as The Twilight Zone (1960) and Dark Shadows (1968). John A.
