LESLIE NIELSEN - INSCRIBED PICTURE POSTCARD SIGNED - HFSID 277738
Sale Price $234.00
Nielsen signed this picture postcard of himself "All the best" in 1968.
Inscribed picture postcard signed "All the best/Dolores/Leslie Nielsen". 3¼x5¼ overall, 3x4¾ image, signed on verso of photo. Beverly Hills, California, June 13, 1968. Addressed to Dolores Ford, Telford, Pennsylvania. With facsimile signature on image: "Best wishes/Leslie Nielsen". One 5¢ blue-and-white George Washington stamp affixed. Although his career stretches back half a century and includes over 100 films and countless TV programs, Nielsen(1926-2010) gained true fame late in his career, when he starred in a series of comic spoofs beginning with 1980's Airplane! A notorious off-screen practical joker and cut-up, he was not given an onscreen conduit for this trait until he was cast in these films. This led to Nielsen's deadpan characterization of monumentally inept police lieutenant Frank Drebin on the cult TV series Police Squad, which in turn spawned the 1988 hit The Naked Gun and two sequels. Lightly toned and creased, otherwise in fine condition.
