LEVI WOODS - AUTOGRAPH - HFSID 291138
Sale Price $85.50
Signature of the pre-World War II minor league pitcher
Signature: "Levi Woods", 5x3 card. Levi Woods (b. 1919) pitched in the minor leagues, mostly Class D ball, from 1939 through 1941. His last team was Jacksonville, in the Sallie League, a Class B franchise and a significant advancement. Woods, whose career mark was 24-36, actually pitched better in Jacksonville (3-1), but there is no record of his playing pro ball after that date. Did military service in World War II bring an end to his baseball career? That seems likely. Lightly toned around edges. Ink stamp on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
