Document signed: "Lew Cody", 1 page, 7¼x5½. Hollywood, California, 1932 October 26. Printed Masquers club form, Endorsement of Applicant for Membership, filled out and signed in ink by Cody. LEW CODY (1884-1934) starred in silent and early talking films, playing worldly heroes and villains alike. Among his highly regarded films were Rupert of Hentzau (1923), Show People (1928) and The Tenderfoot (1932). He was married to actresses Dorothy Dalton and Mabel Normand. Russian producer, director, and actor GREGORY RATOFF (1897-1960) appeared in such movies as Mae West's attorney in I'm No Angel (1933), director Max Fabian in All About Eve (1950) and Lakavitch in Exodus (1960). He directed such classics as Intermezzo (1939) and The Corsican Brothers (1941). The Masquers was an invitation-only social club for actors and the "theatrically inclined." In the 21st century it has become a repository for film and actors history. Vertical fold creases. Staple holes in top margin at left corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
