Autograph Letter signed: "Lilian Whiting", 1 page, 5x8.The Brunswick, Boston, 1906 June 3. To "Professor [William T.] Sedgwick,/Curator the Lowell Institute". In full: "Would it be possible for me to have an admission ticket (or a lend on your personal card) for Monday night? I have a guest from New York to whom I wish to give my seat (who is so anxious to hear Prof. Lowell) & if I can go in I will take my chances for a seat. Sincerely". Accompanied by an unsigned magazine picture of Whiting. LILIAN WHITING (1859-1942) was an American author and journalist who worked primarily as the literary editor for the Boston Traveler and the Boston Budget. She is the author of many works, including Paris the Beautiful (1908), The Lure of London (1914) and the Golden Road (1918). William T. Sedgwick (1855-1921) was an epidemiologist and bacteriologist, very influential in formation of US public health policy. Boston's Lowell Institute has been offering a combination of free public lectures and more specialized professional conferences since 1836. Toned. Left edge worn. Normal mailing folds.
