The French ballet dancer who made her screen debut in 1953 signed this index card in
black ink
Inscribed Signature: “To Jo/ Liliane/ Montevecchi/ [heart]”. 5x3. French singer, dancer
and actress Liliane Montevecchi (b. 1932 in Paris, France) was prima ballerina of Roland
Petit's company before coming to Hollywood. Once there she was cast behind Leslie Caron in
the musicals Glass Slipper and Daddy Long Legs (both 1955) and Elvis Presley in King Creole
(1958). She then toured with the Folies Bergere for 9 years. Moving to Broadway, she won
a Tony as Best Featured Actress in a Musical (for Nine, 1982), and was nominated for
another: Best Actress in a Musical for Grand Hotel (1989). She recorded a solo album
based on her semi-autobiographical show, On the Boulevard, and performed at
Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. Other film credits include How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
(2003), Wall Street (1987), and The Young Lions (1958). Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine
condition.
