LISA LU. Autograph Note signed: "Lisa Lu" and on verso "Helen Barnhart" and "Larry Hayes". Lu writes in full: "Dear George, I certainly enjoyed being on your program. Hope to see you soon again. Aloha." Barnhart writes in full: "George Dear,/Your delightful humor and twinkle have made 25 weeks of ping pong balls and Gruen Watches a pleasure! Affectionately". Hays writes in full: "Thank you George - It's been a pleasure to 'Play Signal' with you. You make a director's job so easy." Magazine clipping with photo of Lu (b/w, 2x3¾ overall, image 1¼x1¾, one surface) below her signature. Lisa LU played stock Asian roles in the TV series Have Gun, Will Travel (1957) Yancy Derringer (1958-1959), and a meatier role in Anna and the King (1972). She made her film debut in The Mountain Road (1960). She delivered a powerful performance as the Dowager Empress in The Last Emperor (1987) and was featured again as An Mei in The Joy Luck Club (1993). No further information is available about Helen Barnhart, who seems to have been a commercial spokesperson, or Larry Hays. Frayed right edge where page was removed from a booklet. Affixed items on verso show through faintly. Mounting adhesive evident at upper edge of Lu clipping. Printed advertisement for "Signal gasoline" (4x1) affixed at an angle below Hays note. Otherwise, fine condition.
