Autograph Note on Photograph signed: "Liv Ullman". B/w, 8x10. PBS still with printed caption: "Liv Ullman gives a majestic performance in "The Human Voice," depicting a woman holding a final, desperate conversation with her departing lover. The one-woman dramatic monologue is part of a special Great Performances telecast this fall on public television." Ullman's handwritten note has struck through several words, and added: "airing Tues. Dec. 4 at 8:30 pm/on Channel 21 (WLIW)". Norwegian actress Liv Ullmann (b. 1938) gained fame as a star and muse for Swedish director Ingmar Bergman in films like Persona (1966), Cries and Whispers (1972) and Autumn Sonata (1978). She was honored with numerous New York Film Critics' Awards during the early '70s; she also earned Oscar nominations for her work in The Emigrants (1971) and Bergman's Face to Face (1976), has received eight honorary college degrees, and has been active as an ambassador for UNICEF. Ullmann received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in 40 Carats (1973) and during the '90s, turned to directing, helming the theatrical feature Sofie (1992). WLIW is a New York public television station. Slightly worn. Ink lightly smudged but fully legible. Otherwise, fine condition.
