Typed Letter signed: "Liv Ullman", 1 page, 8½x11. New York, New York, 1975 February 20. On letterhead of the New York Shakespeare Festival written to "Dear Neil". In full: "Thank you so much for your lovely letter and your kind words about me and recent films you have seen. Contrary to your letter, your good wishes do mean quite a bit to me and I hope you will continue to be a fan of films and theatre. Best wishes," Accompanied by the transmittal envelope addressed to Neil Silverman, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, postmarked New York, New York, February 20 1975. Norwegian actress Liv Ullmann (b. 1938) gained fame as a star and muse for Swedish director Ingmar Bergman in films like Persona (1966), Cries and Whispers (1972) and Autumn Sonata (1978). She was honored with numerous New York Film Critics' Awards during the early '70s; she also earned Oscar nominations for her work in The Emigrants (1971) and Bergman's Face to Face (1976), has received eight honorary college degrees, and has been active as an ambassador for UNICEF. Ullmann received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance in 40 Carats (1973) and during the '90s, turned to directing, helming the theatrical feature Sofie (1992). Normal mailing folds.
