Rare ALS:
"Liza", 3p, 5½x7½. No place, no date. To Joan (actress Joan Crawford). In full: "How many many times in the few days since I saw you have I remembered with pleasure and real delight the lovely evening you planned for Mary and me! Everything about it was just perfect beginning with the 'surprise' (and so it was!) And continuing through the scrumptious dinner at Café Brasilia. What a charming place and what superb food: I can taste the hearts of palm and that heavenly sauce still-not to mention the crabmeat salade (sic), duck, delicious vegetables and all those calorie-filled desserts! For all these goodies I thank you - both for the fact and the memory- But most of all, dear friend, I thank you for thinking of it all; for including me; and for giving your time to providing and an evening of 'good times' for Mary and me. I can't close this note without saying how delighted I was to see you looking so well - really radiant (And I don't give all the credit to Aqua -whatever-it-is Skin Lotion!) I am so glad that things are going well with your Pepsi work and that the 'new people' (I'm afraid I'll always think of them that way) seem to appreciate your invaluable contributions. They'd better. With love and gratitude."
