LOIS HUNT The soprano is shown looking over her shoulder in this charming black and white photo Inscribed Photograph signed: "for Joseph Shapiro/Best wishes/Lois Hunt/10/52", in blue ink, b/w, 8x10. Lois Hunt (1924-2009) was an operatic soprano who frequently sang with Earl Wrightson, her husband. She made her professional debut in 1946 and, by 1950, was appearing regularly in productions at the Metropolitan Opera. She also appeared on Broadway, including as a replacement for Marion Marlowe as Elsa Schraeder in The Sound of Music (1959-1963, 1,443 performances). Hunt ended her singing career after her husband's death in 1993. Corners creased. Lightly soiled in top left margin. Lightly bowed. Otherwise, fine condition.
