LOIS MAXWELL - AUTOGRAPHED SIGNED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 259254
Price: $260.00
LOIS MAXWELL. Photograph signed: "Lois Maxwell". B/w, 3¾x5.
Canadian actress Lois Maxwell (1927-2007) is best remembered for her
appearances as the coolly efficient, subtly predatory, Miss Moneypenny,
exchanging quips with Sean Connery and Roger Moore in 14 James Bond films
produced between 1962 and 1985. After leaving the series, she wrote a
newspaper column under the byline Miss Moneypenny. Discharged from the Canadian
army in World War II because she had lied about her age to get in, she appeared
in films beginning in the late 1940s, including the Ronald Reagan vehicles
That Hagen Girl and Bedtime for Bonzo. After her death, Roger
Moore, who had studied with Maxwell at the Royal Academy of Performing Arts,
opined that she should have been promoted to the role of "M" in the later Bond
films. Fine condition.
