Actor LON MC CALLISTER (1923-2005), born Herbert Alonzo Mc Callister, Jr., is best known for playing juvenile leads. He made his film debut at age 13 in Romeo & Juliet (1936) and made his last film, Combat Squad, in 1953. Mc Callister's film credits include Stella Dallas (1937), Yankee Doodle Dandy and Gentleman Jim (both 1942), Stage Door Canteen (1943) and The Story of Seabiscuit (1949), and he also guest starred on television from 1949 (Toast of the Town) to 1961 (The Rebel). After his retirement, Mc Callister became a successful real estate agent. British stage, screen and television actress SLYVIA SYMS (born in 1934) made her film debut in 1956 in My Teenage Daughter. She has been nominated for British Academy Awards for Best Actress (Woman in a Dressing Gown, 1957; No Trees in the Street, 1958) and Best Supporting Actress (The Tamarind Seed, 1974). In addition to leading and later character roles in such films as The Moonraker (1958) and The World of Suzie Wong (1960) and Operation Crossbow (1965), Syms has been active on television, appearing in several TV series, miniseries and made-for-TV movies. She is the mother of actress Beatie Edney. Slightly creased, vertical crease at the "n" of Lon. Light show through of ink at last name. Binding holes at blank right edge. Fine condition.
