LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT PLAY CAST
Four actors sign on the cast page in this Playbill for a performance at the Broadhurst Theatre.
Show Bill signed: "Jack Lemmon", "Kevin Spacey", "Bethel Leslie" and "Peter Gallagher", 5½x8½. Playbill for a stage production of Eugene O'Neill's play Long Day's Journey Into the Night, at New York's Broadhurst Theatre. This 1986 Broadhurst Theatre revival of Long Day's Journey Into Night, first performed in 1944, received Tony nominations for Lemmon, Leslie and Gallagher, as well as for director Jonathan Miller. It was telecast the following year. Jack LEMMON (1925-2001), who excelled in both comic and dramatic roles, won Oscars for Mister Roberts (1955) and Save the Tiger (1973). He was nominated for five more: Some Like It Hot (1959), Days of Wine and Roses (1962), The China Syndrome (1979), Tribute (1980) and Missing (1982). Kevin SPACEY has already matched Lennon's two Oscar wins, with The Usual Suspects (1995) and American Beauty (1999). Peter GALLAGHER has also established a strong reputation in both stage and film roles, the latter including an acclaimed performance as Sky Masterson in a 1992 revival of Guys and Dolls. For Bethel LESLIE (1929-1999), Long Day's Journey was the final Broadway appearance for an actress who had begun a distinguished run of performances there in 1944. Fine condition.
