LORENZO MUSIC
The writer, actor, voice actor, producer and musician signs this check for $32.70, in black ink
Check Signed: "Lorenzo Music" in black ink. 8½x3½. September 29, 1980. Check no. 6039 drawn from the account of Lorenzo Music at United California Bank in Los Angeles, California. Payable for $32.70 to Metro Telephone Answering Service. Lorenzo Music (1937-2001) met his future wife Henrietta while both were acting students at the University of Minnesota. They formed a comedy team before raising a family. In the mid-1960s, Lorenzo Music turned to script writing, first for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour and then for a series of highly successful sitcoms: The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show and Rhoda. On Rhoda, Music became the voice of the unseen doorman, Carlton. This began another very successful stage in his career as a voice over for animated cartoons. His most famous voice was that of the Garfield. (When he volunteered to help on a suicide hotline, a few callers recognized his voice as "that TV cat."). Ink stamps. Corners slightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
