LORRIE MORGAN and JIMMY C. NEWMAN
A magazine photograph signed by both singers on their respective sides
Magazine Photograph inscribed and signed: "To David/Best of My Love/Lorrie" in black ink, and on verso "To David/Jimmy C/Newman" in black ink. Color, 8¼x11. (Newman has signed in blank section of page of text next to his b/w, 5x4¼ photo. Lorrie Morgan (b. 1959) as Loretta Lynn Morgan, the daughter of Grand Ole Opry star George Morgan, debuted on its stage at age 13 and become in 1984 the youngest singer ever to join it. Three of her singles reached #1 on the country charts: "Five Minutes" (1990), "What Part of No" (1993) and "I Didn't Know My Own Strength" (1995). Jimmy C. Newman (1927-2014), born Jimmy Yves Newman joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1956, the same year he had his biggest country hit, "A Fallen Star." Although his early hits were traditional country, he soon led a new trend by introducing the Cajun sounds of his native Louisiana into his music, especially his albums Folk Songs of the Bayou Country (1963) and Louisiana Saturday Night (1967).
