Photograph signed: "Best of Life/Ed Asner", "Nancy Marchand" and "Mason Adams", B/w 10x8. ED ASNER (b. 1929) is perhaps best known as the TV news editor on The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970-1977). When Moore ceased production in 1977, Asner took his Lou Grant character into an hour-long dramatic weekly about a Los Angeles newspaper. The show titled Lou Grant ran from 1977 to1982. Asner has literally hundreds of television credits (1961-2010) and voice credits for animation and video games that include The Simpsons, X-Men Legends, Max Steel, and Superman: The Animated Series. His more recent TV credits include: CIS: NY (2009), 6 episodes of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006-2007), 27 episodes of Thunder Alley (1994-1995), 5 episodes of Batman (1992-1994), and 16 episodes of Captain Planet and the Planeteers (1990-1992). NANCY MARCHAND (1928-2000, born in Buffalo, New York) was an Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress. Marchand got her start on the stage. She had a total of 24 performances on Broadway between 1951 and 1994, with a Tony nomination for her performances in White Liars and Black Comedy (1993). She made the jump to TV in 1953 in Marty and to movies in 1957 in The Bachelor Party. Marchand had numerous guest star roles and appearances in soap operas after that, including Love of Life, The Edge of Night and Another World. Modern audiences probably know Marchand best as Margaret Pynchon from Lou Grant (1977-1982), a role that earned her four Emmys, and as Livia Soprano from The Sopranos (1999-2000), which earned her a Golden Globe and two Emmy nods. On a lighter note, she was also cast as long-suffering Mayor Barkley in the movie The Naked Gun (1988). American actor MASON ADAMS (1919-2005) was born in New York City, New York. He appeared in over 65 films and television series between 1947 and 2003, and was nominated for three consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards (1979, 1980 & 1981) for his work on the television series Lou Grant. Adams also had a distinguished stage career, appearing in over ten Broadway shows between 1943 and 2002 and earning a 1988 Drama Desk Award nomination for his performance in The Day Room. Slightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
