LOU RAWLS. Facsimile Document signed in ink: "Lou Rawls", 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1995 November 29. Rawls signs in ink a faxed photo release request from Vernon C. Troupe of Los Angeles, requesting Rawls' permission to use a picture of Rawls with Ray Charles in a photo book to be published under the title, Ray Charles and Friends. A smooth singer with a 4-octave range, Rawls won three Grammys for R&B Male Vocal (1967, 1971, 1977). He is comfortable in all the African-American musical genres, including gospel, blues and jazz, as well as straight pop. His biggest hit was "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" (1976). Rawls also appears in occasional films. As of early 2007, the book mentioned in the request has not appeared in print, although there is a recorded album by that title.
