LOU "SLICK" JOHNSON3½x5½ black and white photo signed by the talented outfielder Photograph signed: "Best Wishes/ Lou Johnson", in black ink, b/w, 3½x5½. Sweet Lou "Slick" Johnson (1934-2020) is a former MLB outfielder best known for the time he spent with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1965-1967). A great hitter, Johnson batted a .260 in 130 games during his first season in the Majors, and scored the only run in Sandy Koufax's perfect game. His play help propel the Dodgers into the 1965 World Series where he scored the game-winning home run in the decisive seventh game. His 1966 season wasn't as eventful, although Johnson batted an impressive .272 and the Dodgers made it to the World Series again. However, they were eventually swept by the Orioles. His career slowed down after those two stand-out years, and after playing for a few different teams Johnson retired in 1970. Defects from negative reproduced in photo. Lightly bowed. Otherwise, fine condition.
