Signature: “Lou Nova”, in black ink, 3½x2. Lou "The Cosmic Punch" Nova (1913-1991)
was a boxer who became World Amateur Champion in 1935. He was victorious in his first
22 professional fights and retired from boxing with a record of 49-9-5. Some of his most
memorable matchups were 2 bouts with Max Baer and his loss against Joe Louis. In
addition to his extensive boxing career, Nova recited the famous poem "Casey at the Bat" in
a 1956 production of the Broadway play, The Happiest Millionaire. Nova also made
appearances in 20 films, and had guest spots on several TV shows including Hopalong
Cassidy, 77 Sunset Strip and Get Smart. Heavily toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
