LOUIS GINSBERG The accomplished poet describes the source of his artistic inspiration in a letter to fans. Extremely Rare! Autograph Letter Signed: "Louis Ginsberg", 1p, 8½x11. Paterson, New Jersey. 19 January 1974. To "Dear Mr. & Mrs. Fischer:". In full: "Thank you for your gracious letter./ I find inspiration all around me, but love to wait for an idea or line or image to well up, from my subconscious. Then, I revise with my conscious mind - a sort of marriage of the subconscious & the conscious. Best wishes from," Louis Ginsberg (1895-1976) was a published poet, as well as a high school teacher. He is the father of famous beat poet Allen Ginsberg, and would often recite the poetry of Dickinson and Longfellow to his young son, hoping that it would help him better understand and appreciate the world around him. Some of his most notable works include Morning in Spring and Other Poems, as well as his Collected Poems. Influenced by the works of Shelley, Keats, and Milton, Ginsberg's poetry was known for its juxtaposition of unexpected themes and elements. Slightly soiled in upper left-hand corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
