Document Signed: "Louis Jourdan" as Performer, 1p,
8½x11. No place, 1964 December 29. Headed: "Standard AFTRA Engagement
Contract for Single Television Broadcast and for Multiple Television Broadcasts
Within One Calendar Week". Contract for Jourdan to appear as a guest
performer on the first On Broadway Tonight show, to be aired on
January 1, 1964 between 8:30-9:30 p.m. Jourdan was to receive $7,500 in
compensation for his appearance and 18 rehearsal hours. Also signed:
"Myra Lustry" for On Broadway Tonight. Jourdan (1921-2015)
debuted in films in 1939, playing dashing, lead roles in a number of French
romantic comedies and dramas. In 1948, he was invited to Hollywood by David
O. Selznick, who cast him in The Paradise Case. Jourdan starred in
a number of Hollywood films and international productions, including
Madame Bovary (1949), Three Coins in the Fountain (1954),
Gigi (1958), Can-Can (1960), Irma La Douce (1963),
Octopussy (1983), Double Deal (1984) and Year of the Comet
(1992, his last film). After 1968, he also appeared in a number of television
movies. Lightly creased. Show through of print on verso. Staple holes at upper
left blank corner. Otherwise, fine condition.
